Start of my Real Estate

Start of my Real Estate career in FL – JOURNAL

My Florida real estate journey kicked off yesterday, and it felt just right. The day began with a heartwarming birthday serenade from my grandkids in New Jersey, their cherubic voices setting a joyful tone. Then, I dove into my morning ritual: posting on social media, checking Stellar MLS hot sheets, sifting through my four email inboxes, journaling, and planning my day. By 10 a.m., I hit the streets of, introducing myself to local businesses, handing out my business cards, and collecting a few in return. I’m building a database of contacts, so if you have a home-related need, I might have a name or two for you. As a new agent here, I’m starting small—bear with me! Yesterday’s meet-and-greet sparked two potential leads, so fingers crossed.

Today was even better—a truly great day. After my morning chores, I ventured out again, meeting more wonderful people and passing out about 20 business cards. The highlight, though, was discovering pastirma, a Middle Eastern cured meat delicacy I haven’t savored since leaving New Jersey 10 years ago. Back in Oregon, the nearest source was a 2.5-hour drive to Portland, which I wasn’t doing. Finding it just 10 minutes from my Tarpon Springs home felt like a small miracle. I’ve included a photo and the store’s details below if you’re curious to try it. Tarpon Springs, with its vibrant Greek heritage and mix of Egyptian, Lebanese, and other cultures, is a treasure trove of experiences. It’s clear I’ve landed in the right place. When I got home, I couldn’t resist sampling a few slices of pastirma — though I forgot to grab pita bread to complete the moment!
