Blackberry Night Spiders

A no-bake gothic bite

Delicate, unsettling, and almost too simple to be real. These blackberry night spiders blur the line between sweetness and unease — a quiet gothic bite where beauty lingers just long enough to feel dangerous

Ingredients

Ingredients

Store-bought shortbread cookies (round or oval)

Cream cheese (softened)

Powdered sugar (optional, very light)

Fresh blackberries

Black licorice laces or thin black candy strings

Instructions

1.    Prepare the cream

·         Stir softened cream cheese until smooth.

·         If desired, add 1–2 teaspoons powdered sugar — just enough to soften the edge, not sweeten heavily.

2.    Assemble

·         Spoon or spread a thick layer of cream cheese onto each shortbread cookie.

·         Gently press one blackberry into the center.

3.    Create the “legs”

·         Cut licorice laces into short strips.

·         Tuck 6–8 pieces beneath each blackberry so they radiate outward like legs.

4.    Chill

·         Refrigerate 15–20 minutes to set.

Serving Note

Serve cold on a white or stone plate.

Low light. No garnish. Let the contrast do the work.
