Fireball Cherry Blasters
Ingredients
1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
1 cup Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
(Optional thickener) 1/4 cup cornstarch + 1/4 cup water (to make a slurry)
Directions
1. Wash and pit the cherries.
2. In a saucepan, combine the Fireball cinnamon whiskey, sugar, and water over medium heat; stir until the sugar dissolves.
3. Add the pitted cherries and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. While cherries simmer, prepare a cornstarch slurry: mix the cornstarch with 1/4 cup water until smooth.
5. After the cherries have simmered, gradually stir in the cornstarch slurry. Continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens into a syrup-like consistency.
6. Remove from heat, then stir in vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
7. Let the mixture cool slightly, then transfer into a clean jar or container and let it cool to room temperature. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours — overnight is best — to allow the flavors to meld.
Serving
Spoon into small dishes or over desserts, or use as a topping for ice cream, pancakes, or waffles.
If desired, you can add whipped cream on top for extra indulgence.
